This is a three-country tour for both nature lovers, city tours and cultural tours. The trip combines the trhee countries with Gorillas in the would. starts from Bujumbura in Burundi and ends in Kigali Rwanda. On this trip you will visit Bujumbura city and the suburbs, Rusizi national park and Ruvubu national park both in Burundi before transferring to Nyungwe park in Kigali for primate tracking including Chimpanzees and golden monkeys. you will visit Parc National des Volcans for gorilla tracking before going to Kigali for a city tour and visitation to the genocide museum. Uganda for Bwindi and Mgahinga. Clients have an opportunity to track gorillas for up to three times in the three countries. Tracking and seeing these great primates in their different, natural surroundings is a memorable experience, with each park presents its unique attractions.

This tour begins in Bujumbura, Burundi and ends in Kigali, Rwanda


Day 1: Arrive Bujumbura
Arrive. Meet, greet and transfer to your hotel to check-in.
Half day tours in Bujumbura, to visit the Snake & Culture Museum; the Explorers Memorial, the Islam Culture Centre; City Hall; President's Office and the main attraction of the City: Lake Tanganyika. O/N: Club du Lac Tanganyika Hotel (BB).

Day 2: Rusiizi National Park Burundi
You will have a morning breakfast after which you will drive north of Bujumbura to Rusizi National Park. Here you can possibly see hippos relaxing in the waters, antelope and several bird species native of the wetland environment. You will drive back to Bujumbura for dinner and overnight. Day 3: Bujumbura - Kigali, Rwanda
Drive eastwards to Kigali in Rwanda. Drive through hills and turns, continuing to the border with Rwanda and on to Butare. Lunch while there and visit the Botanical Gardens and a cultural museum. Arrive late afternoon. [Approximate driving time: 8 hours] O/N: Hotel des Mille Collines (HB)

Day 4: Kigali - Parc National De Volcans
Enjoy the morning in Kigali and after lunch in the afternoon, drive Northwards to Kinigi through Ruhengeri. Enjoy the rolling hills for which Rwanda is well known. [Approximate driving time: 3 hours] O/N: Hotel La Palme/Virunga Hotel/Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (FB)

Day 5: Parc National des Volcans
Transfer to Kinigi Park Headquarters to track gorillas in Parc National des Volcans. Gorilla tracking through the forest, hills and swamps can be tough, arduous and tiring, sometimes taking up to 8 hours in the forest. But coming face to face with the great primates is well worth the effort. O/N: Hotel La Palme or Virunga Hotel or Mountain Gorilla View Lodge (FB)

Day 6: Parc National des Volcans - Uganda
Transfer to Kisoro and on to Mgahinga Gorilla Park in Uganda. [Approximate driving time: 2 hours] Either guided nature walk in Gahinga or climb a volcano, visit the natural, beautiful-looking Lake Mutanda and other lakes in the area, surrounded by the Virunga volcanoes, take a walk on the shores. Day 7: Gorilla Tracking in Uganda
After Breakfast go for Gorilla tracking in Nkuringo, Ishongi or go for a guided nature walk in the forest searching for butterflies, plant, animal and bird species or climb a volcano. In the afternoon visit the Batwa pigmies, a local animist communist that is almost extinct. See their cultures. Alternatively, simply relax at the Hotel. O/N: Travellers Rest Hotel (FB).

Day 8: Gorilla tracking in DRC

Transfer to Congo Park Headquarters to track gorillas in Parc National des Volcans de Djomba. Gorilla tracking through the forest, hills and swamps can be tough, arduous and tiring, sometimes taking up to 8 hours in the forest. But coming face to face with the great primates is well worth the effort. Late lunch on return. O/N:Travellers Rest Hotel Kisoro (FB). 

Day 9: Lake Mutanda - Lake Bunyonyi
Breakfast and, transfer to lake Bunyonyi for scenic views of the most beautiful lake in the region, visit the Batwa pigmiew, take a boat on the lake to see fishing villages and other local communities. O/N: Bunyonyi Overland Resort/Arcadia Cottages (FB)

Day 10: Lake Bunyonyi - Kigali

Start early for Kigali in Rwanda via Katuna boarder, go for a tour of the city including a visit to a genocide memorial and the art and craft centre. [Approximate driving time: 4 hours]
Transfer to the airport for your flight. [Approximate driving time: 30mins]
